As a non-perpetual care cemetery, Whites Chapel depends on donations for maintenance of the grounds and individual gravesites.
We also depend on surviving family members, and other dedicated volunteers to help us keep the cemetery in good condition.
Mowing and ground maintenance is a continuing obligation throughout the year, as well as some headstone clearing and repair of historic graves.
As stated elsewhere, when a person dies, there is no trust fund created at the time of death for maintenance of a family member’s burial space.
Currently, individuals who are buried in the cemetery pay $200.00 as a burial fee. This payment is made through the funeral home which is handling the family’s arrangements. These funds are then for-
warded to the Association and per Association By-laws, are deposited in the permanent fund.
